Blumenbach distinguishes five categories of race according to color, but is such a distinciton useful in any way? Slave owner used a one drop rule which made anyone with a drop of black blood a black person, ergo a slave. Logically there is nobody totally white or totally black, such a distinction is irrelevant and only leads to such a solutions for those who want to misuse it as we saw in the deep south in the United States and during the second world war.
