St. Nicolaus, or Santa Claus in the US comes in my country on the fifth of december. He is accompanied by an angel and a devil. I was thinking why is the devil shown as a black man? I think that this also contributes to the racism and an archetypal fear of dark and black color. One explanation can be that Jesus talks about hell as a place where there is inextinguishable fire and the fire makes peoples skin darker. It is necessar to know the origion of black faces of the devils and not connect it to the black people of today although it is also probably a congenital fear of darkness which is natural to us.
