I am in the midst of a book Uberleben im Dritten Reich which is about Jews in Berlin during the second world war. the book is very poignant. there are people who did not worry about their lives but sometimes sacrificed their lives in order to help others. Jews had to rely on others who would hide them in their houses and who risked their safety for basically unknown people whom they did not know if they can trust. What stroke me most was a survey of the author C.H.Beck who says that there is not a prototype of a good person. those who helped were people from all walks of life, rich and poor. This brings me to conclusion that conscience is something that we are all endowed with, something that may be find in everybody, at least I believe so.
