I heard a speech today by a high school director that young people let themselves to be very easily influenced by what is told them. the speaker told about the future of our nation and that the young people leaving the high school are those responsible for what the world shall be like in the time to come. this should nevertheless sound as a warning, it should be the opposite I think. this should not put enormous strain on young people who would rather give up than living up to so high expectations. this should be taken as an opportunity to make the world a better place. this should be taken as a privilege that is imposed upon the best ones. similarly God gave all of us certain task, role, a meaning in this world. the job we are supposed to do is a job that is suitable for us. we may be sure that God does not put a heavier burden on us than we are able to carry. on the other hand, he wants from us exactly as much as we are able to do. He wants us to love Him with all our hearts, with all our strength, not more, not less. similarly with the young people living the school. it is important that they do not feel obliged to live up to unreal expectations, it is better rather to encourage them, but always leave the choice what to do upon them. one may not force anyone to do anything, one cannot know what is best for the other one, we may only talk about it, provide alternatives to the consumerism young people live in today and try to show them that alternative life from consumerism exists.
